Design oriented research

Technological developments give rise to new perception conditions. They permeate our lives and alter our concepts of reality as well as the way we take action.

We investigate their influence on social and cultural topics and develop user-oriented design solutions in a transdisciplinary team. This leads to novel application spectrums and media forms like virtual reality and multi display environments.

As we integrate information visualization, computer science, human computer interaction (HCI), physiology and design research into one discourse, we are able to frame theoretical approaches in both technology and culture and to transfer them to our design methods. These approaches are subject to scientific investigation in simulation environments, imaging techniques, optimization processes and the handling of large datasets in order to improve design methods both methodically and in applied scenarios.
