Fluid simulation
A tool to simulate liquids, allowing a realistic display of water in realtime.
Surface reflections as well as refraction inside the water are rendered by raytracing. The water itself is implemented as a height map laid onto an arbitrary terrain. It responds dynamically and fully interactively even if the terrain is modified in real time. Even caustics (lens effects) on the floor are rendered in real time (based on a simplified model).
Various parameters like material properties of the water texture, surface shading, opacity, color, absorption of light, caustics focus and others can be adjusted.
