Interactive data visualization in virtual reality (VR)

In the VR lab of the i4Ds we visualize terrain data of Switzerland in three dimensions and allow for interaction within the landscape. Information about demographic surveys, ecology and environment, culture, politics, economy and infrastructure can be superimposed on the respective geographic locations and shown as an interactive data landscape.

There are many application areas for such environments i.e. exhibition contexts, trade shows, information pavilions or project presentations.

The goal is to generate an experience out of abstract data and to spatially visualize different correlations in order to make the data more easily accessible for the public.
